About the Founder

Matt Osterman didn't come to industrial marketing from a boardroom or a brand agency. He came from the factory floor.

He comes from a long line of factory workers and laborers. People who built things with their hands, showed up every day, and took quiet pride in work that most people never thought about. In high school and college, he spent his summers at a paper mill and then a window and door factory, learning how machines work, how shifts run, and what it actually feels like to make something real.

That foundation never left him.

Over the years, Matt built a career at the confluence of the technical and the creative. From directing feature films, building and selling businesses, leading marketing for companies ranging from $50mil industrial manufacturers to early-stage startups. He co-founded an internet service provider that scaled to seven-figure revenue, won over $5 million in grant funding, and was sold to a regional provider. He has lived on both sides of the equation: the operator who has to make payroll, and the storyteller who knows how to make complex work make sense to the right people.

Propellant exists because most manufacturers are doing extraordinary things that nobody outside their industry ever hears about. The craftsmanship is real. The precision is real. The expertise is real. What's missing is someone who can walk the floor, understand what they're seeing, and turn it into marketing that earns trust instead of just making noise.

That's what Matt built Propellant to do. And it's the work he's most proud of.

Taylor Karasch

Taylor does a little bit of everything at Propellant, but most days you’ll find her building the strategies that help our clients have measurable wins.

Fun facts: Taylor has been to the bottom of the Grand Canyon twice, she’s been above the Arctic Circle and experienced five days of no sunrises, and she’s slalom water skiied since she was eight years old.
